TIME FLIES WHEN YOU'RE DOING MARKETS

Since I started doing fairs and markets, I have learnt loads and made quite a few mistakes. I have also made some brilliant friends along the way. This year I returned to a few markets and attended completely new events. I managed to be more organised with my applications and now I've been round the block a few times I have made more contacts and have found out about other events.

The lovely group Urban Makers East, an East London design collective in Bow, organised two brilliant Christmas markets this year and I was so pleased to be at both. It's really special doing local events and being part of the community. Through Urban Makers East I also attended the ELT Baptist Church Christmas Fair. Being another local event I met one of my neighbours for the first time despite living on my road for 4 years now!

I ventured to Westbourne Park for the Advent Craft Fayre, organised by the bubbly Tola of Vivula. I met Tola through the London Local Team and all the stalls were team members too. It was lovely to spend the day together getting to know each other. Hats off to Tola for under taking such a daunting task. Fingers crossed it hasn't put her off and we'll do it all over again next year.

Yesterday I returned to the venue where I did one of my first fairs in 2014, the Bedford in Balham. This event was organised by the charity the Haven a national charity providing care and support for people with breast cancer. The organisers and the volunteers worked tirelessly to make the venue sparkle and it was jam packed with stalls with endless gift ideas for Christmas. The Haven managed to raise over £2000, lets hope next year it can be doubled.

This Thursday is my last event of 2015. I am joining my friends Sara and Alex at their Swedish cafe Cooper and Wolf, for the annual Chatsworth Road late night Christmas shopping in Hackney. This wonderful cafe is transformed for the evening into a cosy bazaar of local designer makers. What makes the evening is Sara and Alex's warm hospitality.

I really can't believe the past few months have flown by so quickly. Here's to having a relaxing Christmas and a happy new year!
